Gender disparity at work place is a common issue. NRSP-Institute of Rural Management (N-IRM) and Human Resource Development Network (HRDN) together in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy have initiated leadership programme customized specially for young women called “Young Professionals Leadership Programme”. |
Objectives

To develop a cadre of accomplished young professionals;

To provide them with the necessary skills,

To develop confidence for better performance;

To develop leadership skills;

To move them next higher level in the organizational nexus and eventually tread the managerial echelon.

About the Programme
YPLP is a training programme designed for mid career level women who wish to seek management level positions. Programme aims to broaden their understanding and improve their skills to face emerging challenges.
The programme spread over one year, with a total of nine (9) weeks spent in training at IRM, which includes field visit and meeting with leaders and one (1) week of International exposure visit. The Programme consists of lectures, presentations, group exercises, case studies, meeting with leaders, daily team assignments/presentations, individual and home assignments.
YPLP aspires to build a cadre of women professionals for effective leadership and rural development management in order to inculcate management capacity to work productively in public and private organizations. A group of young women participated in the most recent YPLP, representing a wide and diverse range of cultures and professions.
