In 2005,
NRSP-IRM also conducted PGD courses in HRM and NGO
Leadership and Management. The modules for the HRM included
HR Planning; Recruitment Process; HRD; Compensation
Management; HR Appraisal and Labour Laws. The other course
included NGO Leadership, Development and Social Change;
Management and Systems; NGO Capacity Building; Financial
Resource Management; Policy Development and Advocacy and
Inter organizational Relations.
The highly
successful conduct of these programmes opened up the
possibilities for IRM to seek linkages with universities of
repute for joint Diploma and Degree Courses. We are in
contact with four national universities for the purpose and
hope to start, in addition to the PGDs, a post Graduate
Degree Programme in Rural Development also.
The expansion
of Academics programme has luckily coincided with the
ongoing up gradation and modernization of Akhtar Hameed Khan
Resource Centre. AHKRC will provide vital resource back up
support to the academics programme of NRSP-IRM.
NRSP-IRM plans
to expand its Academics activities in line with Pakistan’s
expanding need of development professionals to push forward
the national thrust for ameliorating the lot of the
underprivileged and for poverty alleviation.
Over the years Non Government
Organizations, with their need based, target oriented
approach have emerged as lead actor in the development
arena. NGO sectors face increasing challenges to coordinate
and monitor programmes, establish standards of good
practices and collectively advocate with government on
behalf of their grass roots constituents. To keep abstract
with the growing demands of this burgeoning sector it is
essential that NGO leaders, managers, development
professionals equip themselves with the tools and techniques
needed for effective management service delivery.
NRSP-IRM offer a six months
post graduate diploma course in NGO leadership and
management. This pertinent and innovative course sets to
explain in considerable details, with the aid of numerous
examples the key processes that encompass the management of
NGOs. It bridges the knowledge and skill gap so as to
address the needs of well managed and people oriented
development organizations. Furthermore the course caters to
the needs of all the leaders and professionals who are
serving at high challenging positions and aspire to be
dynamic and strong decision makers. This course considers
individual leadership styles in the context of
organizational and cultural needs.
