Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program

Institute of Rural Management in collaboration with Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) is implementing a project named Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP) for adolescents and adults who have missed out on the opportunity to avail education. The AALTP aims to provide accelerated formal primary education for vulnerable adolescents and basic functional literacy for adults together with a certified Skill Development / Vocational Training course for each learner so as to enable them by providing them with varying opportunities of human capital development and socio economic growth. The component of education will financially be supported by SEF; whereas the training component would be funded through the Government of Sindh. IRM has established six AALTP centers in Jamshoro & Mirpurkhas Districts, three centers in each district and each center plans to have 200 learners with a ration of 70% of adolescents & 30% of adults with a gender balance.


Project Methodology:

IRM will impart accelerated Primary Education course which will be provided by the SEF. The course comprises of three Packages namely A, B, and C. The duration for imparting these Packages is 08, 08, and 14 months respectively. Package A is designed to cater to grades Kindergarten to I. Package B is designed to cater to grades II and III and Package C is designed to cater to grades IV and V. All Packages of the accelerated primary education course must be imparted to the adolescents and they should only be imparted with Package A along with a functional literacy and/or an entrepreneurial course.
