Entrepreneurship training to FATA youth

Youth is considered as backbone of the country. In Pakistan youth is currently the largest group in its history (25 million 15-24) facing a number of critical life decisions. Their well being and health is profoundly important for the social, political and economic development and stability of the country. For this purpose, employability programmes aimed at addressing youth adolescent and youth need to be addressed in a holistic, multidisciplinary way to reflect the varied nature of their lives.

In this context, IRM is implementing a project funded by FATA Development Authority to provide entrepreneur training to 5600 youth of FATA. Under the project, the efforts will be made to provide these youth entrepreneurship training to assist them to set up their own business and save them from unemployment. The programme is designed to provide an opportunity to the Business Managers of FATA to enhance their entrepreneurship capabilities. It will also provide opportunities for the youth to in finding jobs within the country or abroad during Business Management Skill Training (BMST) sessions and career counseling. The endeavors will be made to facilitate the entrepreneurs for market identification and product development. IRM will contribute in building networking with available Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) to the entrepreneurs for access to finance to establish small scale enterprise.

Duration

It is four year project, started from 24/12/2012 to 31/12/2016.

Overall 5,200 individuals will be provided with the Entrepreneurship training which includes:

Project Area:

FATA agencies of Bajur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, North Waziristan, South Waziristan and the Frontier Regions like  Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Imsail Khan (DIK)

Project Activities

FATA Development Authority has trained 5,600 individuals in 46 types of vocational training. IRM is dealing with capacity development component and has committed to provide 5, 12, 18 days entrepreneurship training to these 5,600 trainees on modules (Accounting module, HR module, marketing module, production development etc). Training will be certified by Skill Development Council.
