Shoaib Sultan Khan, winner of several reputed international as well as national awards, has been closely associated with policy making and development planning in Pakistan since 1959. Currently, he is serving as honorary Chairman, Board of Directors of the National Rural Support Programme, Rural Support Programmes Network,

Ghazi Brotha Development Organization and Director of the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, besides being Member of the Economic Advisory Board set up under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance. He has been awarded several reputed international as well as national awards including The Global 500 award, Ramon Magsaysay Award, The WWF Conservation Medal and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

A charismatic leader, who never lost hope, brought light into lives of many devoid of basic necessities of life. He believed in masses, lived with them, worked with them and worked for them. He put in practice teachings of Dr. Akhter Hameed Khan, whom he considers his mentor and proved that poverty can be reduced. He is a staunch believer in the tremendous potential found in masses, both men and women, at the grassroots.
